Important: Bring in all of the materials (bottles, stimuli) that you will need for the fruit fly lab. If the flies are ready, will will begin the experiments today. If not, the materials will be available when the flies cooperate.

If you were unable to complete the BLAST activity we did in class, complete the Phylogenetic Trees POGIL and think carefully about the pros and cons of using different data sets (including morphology) to determine taxonomic relatedness. Think about the connections between nucleotide sequence, amino acid sequence, morphology, and adaptive traits. be able to draw cladograms (phylogenetic trees) from different kinds of data, and understand the implications for evolution of each pattern of branches. Does every data set lead to the same conclusions about phylogenetic relationships between species?

AP Exam registration is officially closed. Could you please remind students that they are required to attend 1 pre-administration session to complete the identification information on the exam answer sheet(s).
